We both followed our older brother on to the high school gymnastics team. My younger brother followed me to college, where I wanted to be an artist, but instead became an accountant (now an artist).
My younger brother eventually became an NCAA All-American on pommel horse, placing third nationally in 1984.
Vincent had Theo, I have my brother.
I feel this image captures the intensity of competition, with focus trained exclusively on the athlete in pursuit of perfection.

Michael E. Voss is a contemporary American artist. His work serves as a powerful conduit for revealing the beauty that surrounds us, inspiring joy, and stirring the world from complacency. With a profound commitment to his craft, he aspires to evoke compassion and empathy, igniting a transformation in the hearts of humanity towards greater goodness.
In his art, Michael directs attention to the hidden, labels falsehoods that lurk in the shadows, and tears away the blinds that obscure truth and beauty. He endeavors to shed light on ignorance, injustice, intolerance, and inequity perpetuated by societal facades, unveiling the raw realities beneath.
Michael's artistic mission extends beyond the canvas as he aims to engage his viewers in critical dialogues that nurture human dignity, champion social justice, advocate for global equality, and prioritize planetary health. His art is a catalyst for meaningful discussions that hold the potential to effect positive change.
In the pursuit of self-preservation, Michael E. Voss channels subconscious imagery from within, allowing it to flow freely and nurturing self-forgiveness through his creative expression.
His artistic journey reflects a unique blend of influences, drawing inspiration from both the wisdom of old masters and the innovation of contemporary artists, as well as the realms of mythology and psychology. While he has received formal training in the sight/size realism technique, Michael's artistic spirit thrives on experimentation, often crafting his own tools to explore new methods and avenues of creative expression.
