Born in 1966 in Rotterdam, Josine Jansen currently lives and works in France. Daughter of the Dutch painter Joseph Jansen and Netty Van 't Hoff, creator of historical costumes, she was immersed from her childhood in a rich and inspiring artistic universe. After living in Antwerp in Belgium, she settled in Autoire, in the southwest of France. She undertook preparatory studies for Fine Arts and advertising design in Antwerp before embarking on her second passion: travel.
Josine began her professional career in the field of tourism by founding a travel agency in Thailand. Upon her return to France, she worked for an American agency as a national tour guide and tour guide for organized trips around the world. During her travels, she creates magnificent sketchbooks, immortalizing the places visited and human encounters through her illustrations.
Back at her house in Padirac, Josine devotes her time to painting and drawing alongside her father. She masters various techniques such as oil on linen, pastel, charcoal, pencil and watercolor on paper. Her figurative style highlights the depth and beauty of the subjects she addresses.
The 2020 pandemic, although it limited his travel, offered him the opportunity to devote himself fully to his art in his studio. Josine then decides to concentrate on portraits of children from all continents. Using photographs, she strives to capture emotions and reveal the reflection of the soul in the eyes of each child, thus allowing the viewer to imagine the story of each one and the richness of their encounters.
