Provenance:
- The painting presented was a gift by the artist herself to her acquaintance, Makiy Tatyana Anatolievna, a doctor, in 1997. To this day the painting is in her collection.
Tartakovsky Isaac (1912 - 2002) - was born in Volichisk (Khmelnitsky region) in the family of a teacher.
At the age of fifteen, Isaac entered an art and industrial school, from which he graduated in 1929. From 1932 to 1937 he studied at the Kiev Institute of Cinematography at the cinematography department in the studio of A. Dovzhenko, who graduated with honors.
He takes part in art exhibitions since 1949 at the republican and all-Union exhibitions, and since 1951 - at the international ones.
In 1976 he was awarded the title Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in 1993 he was awarded the title People's Artist of Ukraine. He is the author of numerous thematic paintings, stands out for its imagery and sincere love of life.
Works of Isaac Josephovich Tartakovskiy are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Simferopol, Sevastopol art museums, Feodosia Art Gallery and others, in galleries and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
