Tu sais, elle me manque.
Et le tableau? Bien...
Tu sais, Jill, elle me manque.

You know, a painting has strange paths. Initially, I wanted to do a painting on the Alentejo, something I have photos of, all that. And even a painting (well, internet...) by Paul Cézanne - view of Domain Saint-Joseph (The Hill of the Poor). But sometimes I stop and see “Balibo” on television. It's the story of five Australian journalists who were murdered by Indonesians, just before the Indonesians invaded Timor-Leste in 1975. "Balibo" is a film, and this film is based on a book, " Cover up", made by Jill Jolliffe. You know her? I do. We were reporting in Portugal, Angola, Australia and Timor. And then when I became a Dad (yes, yes!) she was the Godmother! She was a true friend, really. She returned to Australia. And she died. You know, I miss her.
And the painting? Well... There's Cézanne, okay, in France, in the south. There is the Alentejo, too, with the immense plains, obviously we search a little. And then the west of Timor, small mountains, isolated villages - but then the houses, eh...
You know, Jill, I miss her.

E ela morreu. Você sabe, eu sinto falta dela.
E a mesa? Bem...
