The image of the Shepherd is complex and ambiguous. It is based on the gospel parable in which Christ Himself calls Himself so. Actually the image of the Shepherd is rooted in the Old Testament, where all the leaders of the people are called shepherds, it is said about the Lord Himself - "The Lord, my Shepherd." In addition, the image of a shepherd had and has a clear meaning for everyone - in Christianity, it is customary to call priests pastors, and laity - flock. Expanding this concept even more, each of us at some point in our lives is both a sheep and a shepherd. One leads his small family, the other manages the team, the third rules the country. And each of them makes difficult decisions that affect those who follow them, who believe in them. I was interested in the moment when the shepherd himself does not know where to lead his flock. He got lost in the fog. And then he himself turns to the SHEPHERD...

Alexey Chernigin is a contemporary Russian artist. His artistic education began with a focus on painting and graphic design at the Nizhny Novgorod Art College, establishing the foundation for his creative endeavors. Subsequently, Chernigin further honed his skills by earning a degree in Industrial Design from Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Since 1998, Chernigin has held membership in the prestigious Union of Artists of Russia, a testament to his recognition within the artistic community. Beyond his prolific artistic career, he extends his knowledge and expertise to the next generation as a dedicated teacher at the Humanitarian Art Institute, situated at the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Within the Department of Interior Design, he imparts his insights, contributing to the development of budding talents.

Chernigin's artistic pursuits encompass a spectrum of mediums, including painting, graphics, and interior design. His works are marked by a captivating exploration of human motion, creating dazzling and emotive images that resonate with viewers.
