Hugues est né en 1956 à Semblançay commune d'Indre-et-Loire en France. Il est même introduit dans le goût de l'art par son beau-frère, le pianiste, maquettiste et peintre: René-Jean Louis (fils de Aéros, célèbre funambule du début du 20e siècle).
Il a exercé plusieurs professions: représentant de l'entreprise, maquettiste de l'architecture, musiciens de variété, chanteur, acteur (Akkrakas théâtre). Et a voyagé dans plusieurs pays par l'exercice de ces professions: Liban, Côte d'Ivoire, Suède; Espagne, Italie, Norvège, Allemagne.
Depuis 2000 Hugues se consacre à la peinture (peinture), exposant dans plusieurs salons:
salon d'automne (Paris), salon des indépendants, XXART, le salon du petit format, etc.
Et dans plusieurs galeries:
galerie Alain Guéguen, galerie Craventaise, Galerie des Guerches.
