Pulasthi Ediriweera is an experienced and award-winning artist, songwriter, teacher and a designer from Sri Lanka. Having loved painting from young days and having honed his painting skills at Haywood Art Institute, he started his career as a newspaper artist.
Later, Pulasthi worked in advertising, as an art director and creative director for about forty years, and now he is engaged in artwork as a freelance designer. As one of the most expert stamp designers in the island, he has designed more than 200 stamps, and as a songwriter, he has composed songs for famous singers of the island.
For his long-term volunteer service at the Kala Bhavan, as the President of the Ceylon Arts Association and the Principal of the School of Art, Pulasthi has been awarded with the Kalapathi, Kolomthota Bhushana, Vishwabhinannadana and Kalabhushana awards.
