STATEMENT
Sinds 1968 leg ik mijn gevoelens vast in afbeeldingen. De gebruikte materialen zijn divers, evenals de technieken. Momenteel is acryl en tempera het medium. Als autodidact geen scholing op dit gebied en wens dat ook niet. Mijn streven is niet om een zo goed mogelijk kopie van de werkelijkheid te maken waarbij vakmanschap een grote rol speelt (hoewel dat bij anderen te bewonderen is) maar om afbeeldingen te creëren op gevoel en creativiteit. Het expressionisme kent maar één wet: dat er geen wetten zijn, en dat die dan ook niet mogen opgelegd worden. (wikipedia) Eens een simpele waterverf afbeelding gekocht van een junkie. De emotie die het werk overbracht was groot. Als artbrut schilder de wens om ooit te kunnen schilderen als Charles Bukowski zijn boeken schreef, Jannis Joplin zong of Fidel Castro zijn idealen verwezenlijkte. Niet de intentie om me met dergelijke grootheden te vergelijken “Zonder doel kom je nergens ook al is dat doel waarschijnlijk onbereikbaar”
