Sébastien Racine est né le 18 juin 1981. Il grandit non loin du lac de Bienne. Dans un environnement artistique, il dessine assidûment, en observant son père peindre. Il prendra conscience plus tard, que ce don transmis sera le point de départ d'un travail de tout une vie.
De 2002 à 2020, c'est l'expérimentation de la figuration expressionniste.
En 2020, c'est l'abstraction, après la rencontre du peintre Roger Birbaum ; s'en suivent des moments d'échanges passionnants sur l'art, la philosophie, la spiritualité et notamment le Bauhaus, un mouvement qu'il lui est cher. Une collaboration est née et une amitié véritable s'est créée au fil du temps dans son atelier biennois et au-delà.
En ce moment, ses différents travaux poétiques ont comme trajectoire la recherche d'une subtile élégance.
L'élément eau est omniprésent depuis tout temps. Guidé par son instinct, rythmé de touches de matières qui reflètent son état actuel, il se pose des énigmes picturales.
On arrive à la deuxième phase du processus : par des aplats géométriques, il enlève et, par la même occasion, cherche la profondeur. L'idée c'est de garder l'essentiel, d'épurer en visant l'harmonie.
