Michel HOSSZÙ est né le 26 Octobre 1944 en Hongrie. Il vit à Paris depuis 1949.
Il fait ses études à l’Ecole Estienne, puis de 1964 à 1966, il s’installe à New-York
où il suit des cours de photographie, et découvre le Pop’Art.
Revenu à Paris, Il continue ses recherches notamment en sérigraphie et montages
photographiques.
Désormais s’épanouissent les tendances spécifiques de son tempérament d’artiste,
il trouve sa voie dans les techniques de multiplication, de fragmentation et juxtaposition
de portraits, et adhère au Mail Art,dont il sera un représentant éminent en Europe,
il n’en conservera que l’idée du timbre qui deviendra avec la sérigraphie un support
privilégié.
En février 1987, à la disparition d’Andy Warhol, il décide de lui rendre hommage
tout en restant fidèle à son esprit provocateur et à son ambiguîté, et il créé le premier
timbre mondial à l’effgie D’Andy Warhol.
Outre ses propres oeuvres, Michel HOSSZÙ créé sans interruption depuis cette date,
des timbres d’art pour les autres artistes, les galeries, les musées, et les entreprises qui
recherchent un support de communication innovant et original.
Parallèlement il continue son oeuvre de sérigraphe, et de collagiste, il décline ses thèmes
de prédilection, ( Marquis de Sade, Famous people, Auto-grimaces, Astrologie ) en créant
des sérigraphies originales sur toiles et sur papier.
