Alain a tôt su qu'il serait peintre et qu'il mettrait toutes ses forces à le devenir .
'' On est pas sérieux quand on a dix sept ans '' disait le poète et c'est pourtant à cet âge des heureuses déraisons qu'il mit résolument le pied sur l'Île ad hoc : un peintre avait jeté l'ancre .
Il s'engagea dans un dialogue avec le monde d'une voix qui jusqu'alors lui avait manquée et qu'il continue encore de pratiquer quelques cinquante six ans plus tard .
Sa peinture figurative chemine de paysages en personnages . Les autres sont souvent les témoins de nos petites histoires , gardiens plus ou moins volontaires qui les magnifient . Alain est un de ces témoins qui borde au lit de sa toile ces étrangers , ces bienvenus qui peu à peu nous deviennent plus familiers .
Une peinture aux accents de bienveillance comme un rempart au cynisme ambiant . Un acte solitaire , une apnée où il va puiser sa couleur et nous revient à la lumière toujours bien accompagné . On pourrait croire qu'il a appris son métier de peintre pour satisfaire l'enfant qu'il est resté .
