Thimira Dharmavaradhana is a Sri Lankan artist who was fond of paintings and art since his childhood where his interests were focused towards developing art as a part of his curriculum during his school years. He was initially drawn to art as a painter by copying an elephant drawing by his sibling, which led his mother to recognize his talents in art and enrolling him for art training under Master Vidyaratne. After completing the training, he conducted his first solo exhibition where the famous Sybil Wettasinghe also participated. His artistic career did not end there. He thereafter was sent to further study art under Dileepa Solangarachchi until his Ordinary Level exam. Later he selected Kelaniya Gurukula College for the higher level studies and he was more involved in external art related activities during this period.

Thimira was able to gather a lot of knowledge about it by being involved in mural painting and carving art as well as flower decoration. I acquired that knowledge under Nalaka Kalthotage. He was given the opportunity to gain a wide knowledge about watercolor painting and its various techniques during this period. The first painting he created as a watercolor painting on ancient Sri Lankan design of Three Elephants or Thumpathrana. Thereafter he started painting sacred and historical images of Sri Lanka. After the experience gained, he started painting on canvas with oil and acrylic mediums which started a new phase of his career. His ambition is to conduct an exhibition of paintings in the National Art Gallery for the whole world to see.
