Isabelle Reygaerts tekent en schildert al meer dan dertig jaar. Ze tekent alles wat ze ziet, maar bij voorkeur mensen. Ze vertegenwoordigen ze in hun dagelijkse omgeving of focussen op hun expressie.
Zijn studie in het veld begon met een regalender in beeldende kunst. Dit was een eerste benadering voordat hij zijn studie voortzette via cursussen aan de Academie voor Schone Kunsten. Ze woonde verschillende secties bij:
De kunstenares begon natuurlijk met de realistische tekening in potlood en houtskool die ze waardeerde vanwege haar hoge eisen.
Na een paar jaar pauze in strips, die contrasteerde met de humoristische en verhalende kant, stortte Isabelle zich weer in het academische tekenen.
Het enige wat hij nodig had, was kleur: de kunstenaar wendde zich daarom tot schilderen. Ze was gepassioneerd door aquarel, vervolgens acryl en ten slotte olieverf.
Elk van deze technieken stelde hem in staat te spelen met licht en reflecties: wat zijn schilderkunst esthetiek zou kunnen geven.
Isabelle wil geen fotografisch schilderij: ze wil de toeschouwer uitnodigen om door haar schilderij te lopen; en indien mogelijk om hem te verrassen.
