Catherine Cornec is a contemporary French artist. Cornec began her career as a mosaic artist and after that worked for a Parisian gallery painting copies of master paintings (Klimt, Fragonnard, Hyacinthe Rigaud). In 2003 she decided to devote herself entirely to her painting.
Cornec paints large, unusual female figures in pink, green, and orange, with colored cheeks and treated with broad, lively brushstrokes. With their bead-shaped eyes and birds on their heads, sometimes they are simple and sometimes they are provocative in their light outfits. They evolve at the artist's rhythm and reflect her personality, whether alone or with a cheerful bestiary.
Catherine Cornec was born in 1968, in France.
