Edwin Rojas is a contemporary Chilean painter. His paintings show a marked neo-figurativism. The author has allowed his work to be compared with the magical literary realism of García Márquez or Vargas Llosa, because he has a strong affinity for those fantastical settings full of recurring symbols.

Rojas studied Pedagogy in Plastic Arts at the University of Chile, obtained a Specialization in Engraving at the Viña del Mar School of Fine Arts and completed a Master of Arts at the University of Playa Ancha in Valparaíso. He also completed a Master's Degree in Visual Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a scholarship granted by the Organization of American States OAS and received a scholarship to attend the Center International D'Etudes Pedagogiques in Paris, France. Rojas is currently a professor at the Faculty of Art at the University of Playa Ancha in Valparaiso.
