Voici près d’une douzaine d’année que Nelly Sanchez est collagiste plasticienne. Ses collages ont été exposés en France, en Belgique et en Italie et ont paru dans différentes revues françaises, comme Maisons Normandie, et anglo-saxonnes. Ils ont également illustré la traduction américaine de La Vénus à la fourrure de Sader-Masoch, coll. « Classics of passion », New Urge Editions (2015). Nelly Sanchez a réalisé, en 2016, l’affiche de la pièce de théâtre de Laurent Gaudé Médée Kali pour l’Exchange Theatre (Londres).
C’est un univers coloré dans lequel l’inspiration surréaliste s’associe à des jeux de symboles. Ces collages sont à considérer comme autant de charades, d’énigmes dont la réponse et le sens dépendent du seul spectateur. Vous ne verrez pas la même chose que votre voisin et c’est ça qui est bien !
