Artiste autodidacte native de Québec, Claire a fait carrière à l’Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) et sa passion pour le dessin sous toutes ses formes, la fascine depuis toujours.
Même si elle a touché à d'autres médiums tel que l’acrylique, l’encre, le dessin et la sculpture, le pastel sec reste son préféré. Elle adore le contact direct avec la matière et elle explore continuellement ses possibilités.
Après s’être attardée au portrait de personnage, elle a progressé vers le gros plan animalier. Il lui est plus facile de laisser aller sa palette de couleur et elle accorde un intérêt majeur au regard de ceux-ci.
Après plusieurs années de recherche, elle a développé une procédure afin de fixer et vernir le pastel.
À sa connaissance, elle est la seule artiste pastelliste, au Québec, à adopter cette technique.
