Valérie Poupon, artiste dessinatrice, vit et travaille en France où elle s'est spécialisée dans l'encre sur papier et l'encre sur carton. Ses dessins impressionnistes en noir et blanc capturent des portraits et des paysages avec une intensité et une profondeur remarquables.
L'inspiration initiale de Valérie vient de la découverte de l'œuvre d'un grand artiste autour de la montagne Sainte-Victoire, qui a marqué le début de sa carrière artistique. Fascinée par cette rencontre, elle a commencé à créer des dessins qui évoquent la majesté et la sérénité de la nature.
Son travail a ensuite évolué pour inclure le thème de l'arbre, symbole de racines et de connexions profondes, inspiré par ses nombreux voyages. Cette exploration artistique l'a menée vers un Maroc fantasmé, en lien avec ses origines. Ce voyage imaginaire, riche en découvertes et en émotions, n'a pas encore trouvé sa conclusion, se reflétant dans ses dessins de visages marquants et intrigants.
Valérie Poupon choisit de travailler exclusivement avec l'encre de Chine, un médium qui ne permet aucun repentir ou retour en arrière. Cette approche sans compromis confère à ses œuvres une pureté et une immédiateté frappantes. Ses mondes monochromes sont empreints de nuances subtiles, invitant le spectateur à une contemplation profonde.
