Née en 1959, Derrey, est souvent qualifiée de peintre urbain. Collées à une certaine réalité; les rues grise des grandes métropoles sont rendues avec réalisme, comme des instants de vie stoppé par la toile. On entend le bruit de la vie grouillante qui se déroule autour de ces carrefours, à ces angles de rues, sur ces quais.
Après de nombreuses année de travail à l'aquarelle puis à l'huile, elle préfère aujourd'hui l’acrylique, technique qu’elle juge directe, la peinture est rapide, influencée par les grands peintres américains du XXème siècle, on retrouve l’inspiration de Andy Warhol, Roy Lichenstein ou autre Edward Hopper.
On trouve aujourd’hui beaucoup des toiles de M. Derrey dans les collections particulières d’amateurs éclairés
