Hij gebruikt zijn nieuwsgierige blik om zijn honger naar het mooie, het zeldzame, het originele, met een bijzondere affiniteit voor detail, het gekozen stuk te stillen. Zijn echte fotografie, volledig gemaakt in natuurlijk licht, wordt nooit gepresenteerd zonder de verhoudingen van het originele formaat te respecteren, zonder bijsnijden of retoucheren.
Boten en havens, havenwoestijnen en verlaten fabrieken, sloopterreinen, containers en afvalcontainers, labels en gescheurde posters, hedendaagse architectuur, paarden en dieren behoren tot zijn favoriete onderwerpen.
Jacques Jégo werd geboren in Bretagne (Frankrijk). Hij woont nu in de Elzas (Frankrijk). Naast Straatsburg werkt hij vooral in Sète, maar ook in Parijs, Antibes en Bretagne. In 1962 begon hij met fotografie, naast zijn studie als architect, volledig autodidact. Hij exposeerde in tal van galerieën, waaronder Dock Sud in Sète (Frankrijk), dat in 2010 een persoonlijke tentoonstelling aan hem wijdde.
