Raphaela M.L.D. is a young artist specialising in abstract painting. Born in Germany, she grew up in Belgium and for the last years she has been living in Switzerland.
Her art is an expression of her inner feelings using colour as a mean to generate and transmit messages. She adopts a bird’s-eye view when painting, placing her canvases on the floor. This allows her to observe and connect with her artworks from multiple viewpoints during the creative process. Raphaela’s compositions are evolving and building on each other with a special curiosity of building multiple fluid layers.
She uses various techniques of painting, experimenting with colours whilst sometimes leaving empty spaces to reflect on balance, purity and freedom. This facet allows her to create playful yet balanced artworks embossed through rich colours and techniques.
Raphaela’s colourful artworks carry emotion and mystery which are to be deciphered and explored by the audience.
