Melancholya is een autodidactische kunstenaar-fotograaf, buitengewoon nieuwsgierig en gepassioneerd door een veelvoud van dingen: klassieke schilderkunst zoals stillevens en genretaferelen, maar ook koken, decors maken, illustreren, handwerken of zelfs schrijven zijn allemaal praktijken die ze combineert om leven te geven originele creaties.
Gespecialiseerd op het gebied van culinaire fotografie, maakt ze sinds 2017 een reeks afbeeldingen rond kookrecepten die ze bereidt, opvoert en fotografeert. Het project "La Faim Est Proche" komt dan tot leven en er ontstaat een heel fictief universum waaraan ze leven geeft door middel van gastronomische foto's, portretten en genretaferelen.
Dit uitgebreide fotografische project, geïnspireerd door de esthetiek en het licht van klassieke schilders zoals Vermeer, Caravaggio of Rembrandt, nodigt u uit om aan te schuiven aan de oude en melancholische tafel van Hannah-Belle, de jonge kok van het "Manoir aux golden woods". die dag na dag, van seizoen tot seizoen, smakelijke gerechtjes maakt voor het jonge stel dat ze serveert.
Met dit project zoekt Melancholya naar een oude, donkere en melancholische esthetiek, in clair-obscur maar waar kleur de boventoon voert. Zo probeert ze vanuit het niets een fictief universum te creëren om haar kijker mee te nemen op een reis naar een andere wereld, een ander tijdperk waarin gotiek, platteland en goed leven naast elkaar bestaan. Om dit te bereiken, creëert ze haar eigen decors, modellen en kostuums en oefent ze fotomontage uit om unieke werken te creëren.
Melancholya woont en werkt in de Pyrénées-Atlantiques bij Oloron-Sainte-Marie. Ze heeft haar fotografisch werk vele malen geëxposeerd en won in 2022 de eerste prijs in de wedstrijd voor jong talent op het fotofestival "La Quinzaine de l'image" in Maubourguet.
