Jean-Jacques Boisseau is een gepassioneerde autodidactische fotograaf. Na een moeilijke overgang van zilveren magie naar volledig digitaal, heeft hij nu tijd om zijn zoektocht naar beelden te bevredigen. Zijn ambitie: momenten, looks, details, hoekjes, assemblages vastleggen... In zwart-wit of in kleur, het hangt ervan af... Kwestie van stemming, sfeer, licht... Laat zien dat de ogen niet zien, dat de tijdschriften vereeuwigen niet...
Hij is een instinctieve en instant fotograaf en vertrouwt meer op zijn oog en zijn spontaniteit dan op optische technieken die hij weinig beheerst. Slechts uitzonderlijk vraagt hij om retouchering, behalve om een kadrering te verbeteren, het contrast te accentueren of licht te brengen... Er is geen sprake van het transfigureren van het samenspel van zijn oog en zijn lens.
Zijn voorkeuren zijn portretten, straatkunst en kleine details die, wanneer ze worden benadrukt, in zijn ogen artistieke waarde krijgen.
Jean-Jacques Boisseau werd geboren in 1958. Hij woont en werkt in Frankrijk. Zijn werk is aanwezig in vele particuliere collecties.
