Andrew Walaszek è nato nel 1954 a Washington, DC, USA, ed è un artista contemporaneo che attualmente vive e dipinge nel nord-ovest dell'Arkansas, USA.
Si è trasferito in Europa con i suoi genitori nel 1957, dove ha poi vissuto in vari paesi per due decenni. Ha iniziato a dipingere vivendo e studiando nelle seguenti città europee: Varsavia in Polonia, allora chiamata Repubblica Popolare Polacca, Glasgow in Scozia parte del Regno Unito, Belgrado in Serbia, allora parte della Jugoslavia, e Minsk in Bielorussia, allora parte della l'Unione Sovietica.
Nel 1977 è tornato negli Stati Uniti, dove ha vissuto a Chicago. Per molti anni ha creato arte nel tempo libero mentre sviluppava software commerciale presso SPSS e poi IBM.
Dal 2014 dipinge a tempo pieno nel suo studio a Lake Avalon in Arkansas, USA.
È un artista moderno e contemporaneo, dipinge in stili figurativi, astratti, a forma libera, emotivamente intensi, gestuali ed espressivi. Seguendo la sua formazione artistica e sperimentando e scoprendo costantemente se stesso, crea arte ispirata da eventi storici e attuali, la sua immaginazione, la nuova tecnologia che ama e la bellezza della natura, in particolare l'Arkansas Ozarks.
