Bogdan Tolbariu, nato nel 1984 (Romania), è un artista visivo formatosi in arti figurative presso l'Università Nazionale d'Arte di Bucarest. Ha conseguito un Master in Arti Visive, che gli ha permesso di acquisire un'esperienza diversificata: è stato scultore, collaborando a diversi progetti scenografici, è stato assistente universitario e professore di didattica della plastica in un istituto specializzato e, negli ultimi otto anni, ha creato concept per vari studi di videogiochi. Interessato alla scultura e alla pittura, si interroga sul dialogo tra fedeltà alla natura e ineffabile nell'arte attraverso vari studi ed esplorazioni di modelli dal vivo. Benché supportato dall'osservazione diretta di modelli o riferimenti, il suo metodo artistico non mira fondamentalmente a simulare la realtà, bensì a esplorare un'espressione viva che consenta comunque un'esperienza estetica significativa per l'osservatore contemporaneo. Fedele all'indagine creativa dell'anatomia umana come fonte perpetua e fluida di simboli e rivelazioni, Tolbariu vede i suoi studi artistici come un percorso alternativo per catturare un aspetto nuovo, forse inaspettato, dell'essere umano, ridefinendo costantemente competenze e tradizioni, esplorando al contempo storie personali e mettendo in discussione il fragile confine tra coscienza, tradizione e verità inconsce.
