I have always loved to draw, and that since my childhood. As a child, I drew the characters from "Mickey's newspaper" then, as a teenager, the models for perfume advertisements...

What inspired you to create works of art and to become an artist? (events, feelings, experiences...)

I have always loved to draw, and that since my childhood. As a child, I drew the characters from "Mickey's diary" then, as a teenager, the models for perfume advertisements. I then worked on a lot of "nudes" in pastel, charcoal and sanguine pencil. I started to paint in acrylic later, then in oil by discovering the paintings of several artists in Saint Paul de Vence where I live.

What is your artistic background, the techniques and subjects you have experimented with so far?

I'm self-taught, I didn't go to art school but I paint almost every day, and like a training exercise, it allowed me to evolve.

I like genre scenes and I do figurative art, with a lot of characters in elegant poses, a lot with hats, and in summer seaside atmospheres.

What are the 3 aspects that differentiate you from other artists, making your work unique?

1/ the light that brings energy
2/ the color that makes them positive and cheerful paintings
3/ the taste for detail

Where does your inspiration come from?

I am inspired by photographs that I find on the net, or that I realize myself. From this, I interpret the photo with my feelings.

What is your artistic approach? What visions, sensations or feelings do you want to evoke in the viewer?

The scenes or postures of the characters I represent tell a little story that everyone is free to interpret. I hope they transmit a certain serenity, energy or well-being to the spectators. I seek beauty to be appeased.

What is the process of creating your works? Spontaneous or with a long preparatory process (technical, inspiration from art classics or other)?

My creative process is very spontaneous and inexplicable; suddenly, I want to do such and such a character, probably depending on my mood. I am not inspired by the classics of art, even if one unconsciously undergoes influences throughout one's life.

Do you use a particular working technique? if so, can you explain it?

I start by preparing my funds. I draw with watercolor pencil or chalk the main lines or the characters, before moving on to acrylic paint. I work on everything at the same time, first the dark colors then the light ones.

Are there any innovative aspects in your work? Can you tell us which ones?

It is no longer enough for me to paint only characters, I try to suggest a story, or a feeling.

Do you have a format or medium that you are most comfortable with? if yes, why ?

I started with small formats and today I also do large formats such as 80x80 cm. I paint on linen mainly.

10. Where do you produce your works? At home, in a shared workshop or in your own workshop? And in this space, how do you organize your creative work?

I have my workshop at home, in a room of my house. I don't like to paint with other people because I need concentration and to go into "my bubble" to paint. Having a workshop is essential to have space, to be able to leave everything in place. I work on an easel.

Does your work lead you to travel to meet new collectors, for fairs or exhibitions? If so, what does it bring you?

Of course, making exhibitions allows new encounters and the exchange of ideas. It is absolutely necessary to show his work in fairs and exhibitions to have a return, to understand what pleases or not, The exchange with an audience stimulates creativity enormously.

How do you imagine the evolution of your work and your career as an artist in the future?

I would like to continue touching people with my style and devote myself solely to painting in the future.

What is the theme, style or technique of your latest artistic production?

My last painting represents a bright and colorful scene by the sea, with a woman with a hat! She has a fouta around her shoulders, very realistic because in the foreground. The painting is done in acrylic on a linen canvas.

Can you tell us about your most important exhibition experience?

I exhibited in Saint Paul de Vence in the Artists' Gallery of Saint Paul de Vence, on the theme of "Belles de mer". The layout of the paintings, around a seaside decor with huts, gave the spectators the feeling of being "elsewhere" during the visit. The exhibition was very successful and received excellent feedback.

If you could have created a famous work in the history of art, which one would you choose? And why ?

"Le dejeuner des boatiers" by Renoir: it's so joyful, we hear the characters having fun and laughing, it's a simple subject but enough to be happy, friends, children, wine and laughter. I don't like racking my brain looking at a painting.

If you could invite one famous artist (dead or alive) to dinner, who would it be? How would you suggest he spend the evening?

I would gladly invite Jean Auguste INGRES to talk about his extraordinary attention to detail.
More contemporary, I will invite Jack VETTRIANO, because I am an undisputed fan, we would go for a walk on the beach together...
