About the author
Leni Winkelmann is a contemporary German painter. She has dedicated herself to landscape painting for many years. She finds her motifs in her home environment and on travels, which she first captures photographically or in pencil sketches. The process of creating the small to large format oil paintings then takes place in her studio.
Landscapes are the preferred theme in Leni Winkelmann's work. Her work is not characterized by the pure reproduction or idealization of a landscape, as is generally known from traditional art history. Rather, it is moods, impressions and thoughts that are expressed in the picture. Solitude and silence, light and shadow, color and space, reality and subjective experience characterize the work, which is certainly also linked to romanticism.
Leni Winkelmann was born in Germany in 1955. Her pictures have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Germany.
Her works are in private collections in Germany, France, Great Britain, Australia, Canada and the USA.
