Arnold Forkam is a contemporary painter from Cameroon, whose creative practice spans between Nkongsamba, the town of the Sawa people, also known as the Water People, and Douala. His artistic world is dreamlike, characterized by his favorite color, blue. Arnold's work passionately advocates for ecology, spirituality, and the rich culture of his Cameroonian heritage. His paintings create a dialogue between the legends of his native land and the aquatic universe.

Arnold's art primarily focuses on water, the human body, women, and the complex relationship between individuals and society. Through his unique perspective, he brings attention to these interconnected themes, exploring them with depth and sensitivity.

In 2020, Arnold Forkam was awarded the Goethe Discovery/Arts Prize, a testament to his exceptional talent and vision. His works are held in esteemed collections, including the Goethe-Institut and the Doual’Art contemporary art center. In 2023, he further distinguished himself by winning the Barthélémy TOGUO Prize, solidifying his place as a significant figure in contemporary Cameroonian art.
