About the author
King is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist from Enugu, Nigeria. He was diagnosed with dyslexia from an early age. As a response to this, he started to explore painting as an alternative communication tool. By portraying his emotions on the canvas, the obstacles present in written language disappear.
Through diverse forms of material expression, such as designing, making handmade leather crafts and jewellery, he creates mixed media artworks which combine his artistic knowledge with his unique way of perceiving the world. King uses his art as a mean to “tell true stories”. A key element in his artistic production is the quest for finding the right means to share the stories — personal stories or stories of people close to him — that inspired him.
In October 2021, King founded the “afro-evangelism art” movement, which aims on utilising the beauty of art to preach a message of love and stir up spiritual enlightenment in the mind of his viewers.
