İronik karikatür ve mizahi heykellerdeki ustalığıyla tanınan çağdaş Ukraynalı sanatçı Dmitry Shevchuk, plastikten figür modelleme tutkusunu çocukluk yıllarında keşfetti. Bu erken hayranlık, sanatsal yolculuğunun önünü açtı ve 1991 yılında mezun olduğu Kiev Sanat-Endüstriyel Okulu'nda (şu anda M. Boichuk'un adını taşıyan Kiev Devlet Uygulamalı ve Dekoratif Sanatlar ve Tasarım Enstitüsü) örgün eğitimine devam etmesine yol açtı.
