Vanessa Renoux is een hedendaagse Franse kunstenaar. Lichtheid en beweging, transparantie en licht, allemaal een werk om vrijheid te verkrijgen, vrijheid van pigmenten en poëzie van vormen.
Vanessa Renoux maakt beeldhouwwerken met gerecyclede, upcyclede materialen, voornamelijk gerecyclede kranten. Het creëren van patina met gekleurde reflecties resulteert in trompe-l’oeil-sculpturen, “papier-brons”.
Krantenpapier geeft meer vrijheid, de zwaartekracht is minder aanwezig, lichtheid en mobiliteit zijn dus mogelijk. Zijn sculpturen onderzoeken de houding van dans en beweging, de dierensculpturen zijn katachtig, verfijnd en gestileerd (katten, stieren, paarden...).
Een reis naar New York zorgde ervoor dat hij de stad in aquarel wilde schilderen. Ze houdt ervan verflagen over elkaar heen te leggen, te wassen, reliëf en diepte te geven, kleuren te mengen, vervagingen te creëren, bewolkte sferen weer te geven... Ze schildert ook de landschappen die haar omringen (Annecy, het meer, het platteland) en de steden die ze bezoekt .
Onlangs kende zijn door Japanse prenten geïnspireerde werk groot succes.
