The artist was born in 1952, lived in Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and since 2021 in Bordighera / Liguria, Italy.

She began her art studies in Germany with morphological drawing at the Academy in Loheland, with Martin Lesch mL1. with watercolor painting and studying the painterly representation of light in the oeuvre of Otto Greis, an Art Informel painter from the Frankfurt Quadriga artist group.

Her final decision to see art as the meaning of her life was made in 2005 during a sculpture seminar in Switzerland. Up to that point, art for Barbara Göbel was a form of body in motion and the effect of color on people.

She devotes herself entirely to art and the development of her own art movement. She gains a deeper and more comprehensive insight on her art trips. She rounds off her knowledge with seminars with various teachers in Austria, Switzerland and Germany and her studies at the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy with Alfred Darda, Jupp Linssen and Jo Bukowski.

Her works are created from different perspectives and the application of universal laws, and her attitude of letting things happen, of aimlessness and her joy in artistic work in dialogue with the work are decisive.
