Alvaro Hernandez Reyes, creador cubano de formación empírica. Licenciado en Historia del Arte de la Universidad de Oriente en Santiago de Cuba. Desde temprana edad empezó incursionar en la técnica de talla en madera, la cual ha ido perfeccionando desde la primitiva pieza rígida hasta la refinada forma estilizada.
No tiene influencia directa a ningún artista, sino a diferentes estilos como surrealismo y abstracionismo, los cuales desde el uso de líneas curvas y el calado equilibrado armonizan en piezas únicas e irrepetibles. Como hilo conductor se fusionan las temáticas de crítica social y conceptuales desde una estética patinada en bronce, cual láminas metálicas torcidas como ilusión metamorfosica forjadas a golpe de gubia en la más dócil de los soportes, la madera.
