Artist (Drawing, Collages)
Born 1962

Isabelle Stagg is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in printmaking, primarily relief and printmaking techniques, including photo printmaking.

Inspired by the beauty of the South of France, she saw the immense richness of these landscapes, which led her to record through photography and the fine arts this magical encounter. Crossing the hills of Provence, the local diversity of vegetation with its natural cycles offers an infinite choice to compose and shape new structures. His work is a union of everything in this environment. The ink drawing required an intimate connection and observation with the subject to portray and reveal detail and a sense of wholeness together.

Isabelle Stagg lives and works in Hyère (France). Graduated from the University of the West of England in 2001 with a "Bachelor of Arts with Honours" in Fine Art. She received the Rebecca Smith Award from the Faculty of Fine Arts in her senior year. Followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Art & Design Secondary Education also at the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK. She is a teacher, then Leader and responsible for the program and management of the Art & Design department in a school in the South West of England.

The media are increasingly raising awareness of our need to safeguard forests for the well-being of the planet.
But where does this vital harmony that captivates us come from?
How do organisms achieve this eternal fulfilment?
Forests are structured organisations in which trees behave socially. A forest intimacy remains thanks to a harmony incorporating biodiversity adapted to the environment. The roots do not develop at random, they manufacture on their way exchanges of nutrients. As for human societies life together is easier, alone, the tree is delivered defenceless to atmospheric conditions; to live in safety, to enjoy great longevity and balance, it must maintain a community at all costs.
Not all trees benefit from the same conditions of development, they compensate for their weakness and strength, their balancing is done by the soil and their roots.
In the Wood Wild Web series, I studied a system of social relations which plays a role in the mechanisms of grouping communities as a network that can demonstrate the complexity of structures, so interweaving organic matter anchors in earth and creates inclusive interactivity.
I sought to express the sensitivity of the trees by giving a symbolic colour to its rhythmic and abstract flows.
The forest, symbol of resistance and sustainability has passed centuries, few enemies threaten it, it offers protection from the outside by the depth of its relations leading to harmony, a constant union and perpetual bonds.
