Dario Gambarin has used a tractor to create portraits of the most famous people in the world and a portrait inspired by Picasso's self-portrait from 1907.

Picasso's legacy has been a big deal in the art world ever since Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, his famous cubist painting, was shown for the first time (1907). Now, thanks to the work of Italian land artist Dario Gambarin, the face of the Spanish master also looms large over a piece of empty land in Castagnaro, Verona. Gambarin has made a name for himself by using a tractor to make portraits of the most famous people in the world by plowing their likenesses into 25,000 square meters of land in Northern Italy. Gambarin said he was inspired by Picasso's self-portrait from 1907 to make the world's biggest portrait of the Spanish artist.

The artistic farmer carved a picture of John F. Kennedy in a field in Castagnaro in November 2013 to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. In 2016, he carved a picture of then-candidate Donald Trump's face with the word "ciao" written under his left shoulder. Also in 2013, when Pope Francis called for a day of fasting and prayer for peace in war-torn Syria, he drew a picture of the pope. He has also drew about Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa and a freedom fighter, Leonardo da Vinci, and Barack Obama, who was the former president of the United States.
