About the author
Karine Verdier began her creative journey as a teenager with drawing. She first creates landscapes and still lifes with black pencils and India ink; then in charcoal. Later she turned to acrylic painting on different supports, canvas, glass, ceramics. She also practices photography. A few years ago she tried her hand at woodcarving and it clicked, this first approach to wood gave her great satisfaction. She will do an internship with the sculptor Gérard Saez to improve.
She is very sensitive to the softness and warmth of the wood, the smell of freshly gouged shavings. She essentially draws her inspiration from nature, which is in her eyes an inexhaustible source of creation. Most of his sculptures represent animals with stylized shapes with generous curves and undulations. She aspires that the discovery of her works is done through the heart and sensitivity.
