About the author
Dominique Leblanc, born in 1965, lives and works in France. An artist specializing in pencil drawing on paper, Dominique has carved out a place for himself in the contemporary artistic landscape with his delicate and introspective works.
Catherine Pouplain, for her part, began her artistic career in the 90s alongside a career as a music journalist at Radio France Internationale in Paris. In 2004, she moved to Brittany and decided to place painting at the heart of her professional activity by opening a workshop-gallery in the fishing port of Lorient in 2006. During this period, she organized numerous exhibitions and events with the local artists, thus consolidating its role in the artistic community of Lorient.
In 2011, an actor invited her to participate in a theatrical project combining painting and comedy, which led her to live performance and the creation of a company. Together, they create a show for young audiences, “Le Petit Phil Rouge”, in which Catherine paints live. After the closure of his gallery in 2012, live performance became his main activity, but painting remained omnipresent in his life.
In 2019, Catherine decided to focus more on colored pencil drawing, which quickly became her preferred medium. She continues to work and exhibit her works across Brittany and beyond.
