Leon Richet , born in 1847 in Solesmes , died in Fontainebleau in 1907.
Pupil of Boulanger, Lefebvre and Diaz de la Pena .Richet made his debit at the Salon in 1869, was awarded an honarable mention price in 1885 and a medal 2nd class in 1888 and 1901.Recognised as a painter of landscapes and sometimes still lifes he was a follower of the great master of the Barbizon School .His skill in showing the effects of light from the sky and his very careful attention to clouds, made his paintings very highly sought after by the Museums and Collectors.
