About the author
Esboner is a contemporary French artist. Born in 1977 in Moselle, eastern France, he has nurtured his artistic talents from an early age. During the mid-90s, he encountered graffiti and became enthralled by its expressive potential, eventually joining the FCM and A31 crews. With a penchant for vibrant chromes, he fearlessly adorned freeways, railroads, trains, and numerous other locations. However, in 2005, he decided to step away from the graffiti scene.
Over the following decade, Esboner shifted his focus towards personal and illustrative endeavors. Exploring various themes, he began delving into the realm of female character drawing. His artistic journey took an exciting turn when he embarked on a month-long sojourn in Iceland, collaborating with tattoo artists in Reykjavik. Immersed in the city's rich street-art atmosphere, he marveled at the ubiquitous presence of art, with buildings forming a mesmerizing mosaic created by artists hailing from all corners of the globe. Influenced by artists like D-face, London police, and Phlegme, Esboner incorporated Icelandic iconography into his work, using waves to symbolize the raw power of nature and employing the whale as a sacred totem.
Upon returning to his hometown of Metz, France, Esboner's passion for street art was reignited. Inspired by what he had witnessed in Reykjavik, he aimed to bring those captivating colors and liberating spirit back home. He channeled his creativity onto road signs, street plaques, walls both outdoors and indoors, infusing the urban landscape with his illustrative universe. Beyond the streets, Esboner has also showcased his art in galleries, participated in urban art auctions, and collaborated on various European art projects dedicated to diverse causes, both as a solo artist and in collective endeavors.
