Alban Luherne choisit de photographier des lieux tantôt communs, tantôt hostiles, afin de raconter le monde comme il le voit ; la beauté dans les endroits perçus au premier coup d’œil comme fades, voire laids ; la destruction dans les images de grands travaux urbains ; la poésie dans les « mass games » de Corée du Nord ; la vie stoppée net à Tchernobyl ; la profusion dans les accumulations. 

A partir de ces images, il construit une œuvre qui nous interroge sur nos valeurs esthétiques et nous permet de trouver une forme de beauté dans les clichés communément sans intérêt. Il explore la polysémie de chaque construction visuelle. Dans ses photos souvent brutes, la rationalité semble avoir étouffé la passion ; et nous interroge sur la mondialisation et ses effets sur les lieux.

Les compositions apparemment simples apportent des questions. Le sens est encapsulé dans ces agencements. Pour n’en rater aucun, Alban prône la neutralité technologique. Cette règle lui permet de construire des compositions qui racontent des histoires de modernité sous plusieurs formats.

L’abstraction de nombreuses photos d’Alban est une invitation à la contemplation. Le seul état selon lui qui permet l’élévation de la sensibilité, de l’esprit et de l’intellect. Regarder pour (re)sentir, à chaque cliché.
